Cleaning Pipes, and Bubblers

Step 1: Empty Bowl of Pipe or Bubbler

  • Empty your pipe or bubbler. Rinse it multiple times with warm/hot water.

(remove as much debris as possible during this stage to conserve on cleaning materials in next step)

Step 2: Place Utensil In Sealed Container

  • A Gallon Zip Lock container will work, a shaker bottle, or just a simple solo cup.

Step 3: Add Salt And Alcohol

  • Pour a medium amount your alcohol solution into the bong followed by a handful of salt.

If you plan on mostly “soaking” it; add some more alcohol (more time, less work)

If you plan on mostly “shaking” it; add some more salt (less time, more work)

Step 4: Shake Shake Shake

  • Making sure to not harm your piece, shake the solution through the piece
  • The salt will act as a light abrasive to clean through the tough spots along the inside of the glass.

Step 5: Empty and Repeat

  • Empty the dirty solution and rinse utensil with water. IF needed repeat until clean.
  • For very dirty bowls a mixture of pipe cleaners and paper towels in between cleanings will make a great impact

Cleaning waterpipes and Bongs

Step 2: Add Salt and Alcohol

  • Pour a medium amount your alcohol solution into the bong followed by a handful of salt.

If you plan on mostly “soaking” it; add some more alcohol (more time, less work)

If you plan on mostly “shaking” it; add some more salt (less time, more work)

Step 3: Cover Openings

  • Cover any openings with appropriately sized material. The goal is to keep things sealed and prevent leaking/spilling in the next step.
  • Your thumbs will work just fine, but alternatively cotton balls will work just fine

Step 4: Shake, Shake, Shake

  • After letting the alcohol solution soak; it’s time to shake things up.

Firmly grasp the covered openings of your bong closed and shake the solution inside. The salt will act as a light abrasive to clean through the tough spots along the inside of the glass.

Step 5: Empty, Rinse, Possibly Repeat

  • Empty the dirty solution and rinse with clean water.

Rinse your bong several times to ensure there’s no trace of alcohol or fumes.

  • Repeat if necessary, if not fill up with clean water and enjoy.
